      Operation Flycatcher

      Overview of the operation area

      Operation start at:
      0500 local time

      1. Situation
Our multi-national base near Zargabad "KP BASE" is still manned by soldiers from the UK, USA, Germany and Croatia. The NATO mission to stabilize the area will be continued until the end of this year. The daily patrols through the city and nearby villages still encounter some smaller resistance forces or have to take care of IEDs. The civil population still isn't very happy about our presence in the area, the tension is always present.
      • Enemy Forces
There are no regular enemy forces in the area. But there are still some terroristic cells operating from the city and the nearby mountains. They are not many and as nearly everyone in this country owns a weapon and runs with it through the area, it's no suprise, that these terrorists can perfectly hide between the normal local population. There were some accidents in the past, where "trigger-happy" soldiers killed a normal civilian, which didn't improve our standing with them. Consider everyone as a threat, but only shoot if someone shoots at you or you're 100% sure you're aiming at an enemy. Expect enemy resistance and terrorist fighters look similar to normal civilians.
      • Friendly Forces
We are just a small garrison in the "KP BASE" near Zargabad. Slightly enough to keep our daily duties running. For some weeks now, there are a few CIA agents in the area as well, as they search for a terrorist leader named Hasib Khalili, which is a very influential person in Zargabad. Currently they're searching for enough evidence to catch him. And as it seems, they got enough.
      • Attachments and Detachments
Due to the upcoming operation to catch Hasib, a special forces sniper team of the US Navy SEALs arrived yesterday at "KP BASE". They're attached to the command of the motorized infantry. Therefore you can consider them as normal members of the garrison concerning the chain of command.
      • Commander's Evaluation
Our situation isn't the best. We're not in an very important area of this country, therefore we don't have many combat vehicles. Basically only the normal assets to do our patrol duties and some logistical tasks. But hopefully we'll be back at our homes in some weeks and can leave this god damned desert.
      2. Mission
      • Find Hasib Khalili and bring him to the Zargabad airfield.
      3. Execution
      • Concept of Operations
For this mission we can use all of our assets at our base. It could be possible to do an approach via helicopters or via our HMMWVs through the streets, which is already a common thing for the locals due to our patrols in the area. In the end, it's up to the Platoon or Squad leader to decide about the approach and detailed plan.
      • Tasks to Manoeuvre Units
        • Motorized infantry squad
          • Secure the villa of Hasib Khalili
          • Find Hasib and take him captive
          • Bring Hasib to the airfield, where a CIA agent will take him out of the region via a civil airplane
      • Tasks to Combat Support Units
        • Logistic and medical support team
Provide logistical and medical support for the infantry squad on short notice.
      • Coordinating Instructions
There is no special coordination between the participating units. Tactical decisions are therefore completely up to the Platoon / Squad leader.
      4. Administration / Logistics
      • Support Concept
The units of the support team are directly attached to the command of the Platoon / Squad leader. In the time they're not needed, they have to ensure combat readiness to immediately fulfill support requests.
      • Materiel and Services
        • 1 M1025A2 with M2
        • 1 M1025A2 unarmed

      • Third Person disabled
      • Manual Respawn disabled
      • If the revive timer reaches 0 (so after 20 Minutes unconsciousness) and you therefore automatically respawn, you're "out of the game". There is no "reinforcement via respawned soldiers".

      • ACE advanced ballistics enabled
      • Mortar Artillery Computer disabled
      • ACE Mortar reloading (manual reload of each round) enabled

      • ACE Stitching (prevent wounds to reopen) only possible for medics if patient is stable (all blue) and inside a medical vehicle or medical facility
      • ACE Healing (full heal via Personal Aid Kit) only possible for medics if patient is stable (all blue) and inside a medical facility (so MedEvac is needed)

      • ACE Vehicle Rearming based on caliber (so you've to carry crates or rockets to the vehicle)
      Something general and important
We don't connect "milsim" with any kind of roleplaying. We connect it with the difficulty, mod settings, and the way we approach a mission or objective.
There will be no "Yes, Sir" "No, Sir" or something. We like to keep it "realistic" with the simulation and organizing aspect. But we don't do any roleplay.

      Communication
We use ACRE and therefore the presence on our TeamSpeak server is necessary where we are all in the same channel.

      Important for the radios:
Everyone must have a AN/PRC 343. It is used for short range communication inside a team,
Teamleaders, squad leaders, pilots and platoon leaders additionaly have a SEM52SL (squad leader needs mostly 2 of them) for long range communication.

      Channel organisation:
Squadleader and his two Fireteamleader -> One longrange channel (or the whole squad at one short range. Depends on the SL decision)
Platoon Leader and all Squadleaders -> One longrange channel
Platoon Sergeant, Support Elements (CAS, MedEvac, etc.) -> One longrange channel

Due to the efforts of @Reckulation I've decided not to cancel the event, but to postpone it for one week. Maybe there will be some others able to participate, who couldn't at the first planned weekend.
For all who already signed up for the first planned weekend -> please have a look if this new date is also suitable for you and adjust your enlistment accordingly

This is common for our Zeus missions, so keep it in mind. It's not Liberation.
